Albert Hammond Jr. is the has been but soon-to-be new musical artist in the US. You may know him as the guitarist for The Strokes, but have you every heard him solo? Everyone from mellow, “Yellow” Coldplay fans to those who are completely Pumped Up for Mark Foster will enjoy his music. Despite his quirky name that reminds me of a particularly witty member of BBC’s “Top Gear”, his music is quite the opposite. Albert’s song “Blue Skies” is one that John Lennon would so covers of if he’d heard it in his day and age. It’s slow but heart-pulling beat will have you by the first four measures, and as if that weren’t enough, his smooth yet unique, raspy voice will definitely seal the deal. If you ever manage to catch his tickets, hold ‘em tight, because you’ll be having bragging rights in the very near future.
Don’t just take it from me—listen to some of his tunes here: http://www.myspace.com/alberthammondjr/music
